Terms of use

Last updated 5 October 2026

Agreement

These terms govern your use of the Copytaster website and service. Copytaster is a product of I Live Here Media LLC ("I Live Here Media", "we", "us"). By using the website or the service you agree to these terms. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm that you have authority to do so. A separate written agreement signed by us, such as a team or enterprise agreement, takes precedence over these terms where the two differ.

The service

Copytaster is an editorial desk. It gathers sources on the topics you define, drafts publications and pieces in the voice you set up, checks factual claims against their sources, records every check and decision, and waits for your approval. You can edit everything it writes. It does not publish, post or send anything on your behalf; you copy out approved work and publish it yourself.

Copytaster is not yet open for general sign up. Until it is, the website describes the service and its launch plans, and the launch list records the addresses of people who want to hear when it opens. Features, plans and prices described on the website may change before launch.

Accounts

You must give accurate information when you create an account, keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the people you invite to it.

Your content

You keep all rights in the material you put into the service and in the work the service produces for you, including drafts, approved pieces and channel copy ("your content"). You give us a limited licence to store, process and transmit your content only as needed to provide the service to you, including sending it to the service providers named in our privacy notice. We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models and we do not publish it.

You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to the documents and other material you upload. You must not upload material you are not permitted to use, and you must respect the rights class you assign to it.

Review and approval are yours

The service uses artificial intelligence to draft and check writing. Its output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. A claim marked as confirmed means a source the service found or you supplied supports it; it does not mean the claim is true, and it does not mean the source is reliable. You are responsible for reviewing every piece, for the decision to approve it, and for everything you publish, including its accuracy, fairness, and compliance with the law and with any rules that apply to you. The service is not legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.

You must not publish a piece under a named person's byline without that person's consent to the voice written for them.

Acceptable use

You must not use the service to break the law; to infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights; to produce defamatory, fraudulent or deliberately misleading material; to impersonate any person or organisation; to send unsolicited bulk messages; to interfere with or probe the security of the service; to access another customer's data; to reverse engineer the service except where the law allows it; or to resell the service without our written agreement. We may suspend use that breaches this section.

Plans, fees and add ons

When paid plans are available, their limits, fees and billing terms are those shown on the pricing page or in your order or agreement at the time you subscribe. Fees are charged in advance for each billing period and, unless the law requires otherwise or we agree in writing, are not refundable. A change of plan applies from your next billing period. Work by our editors, such as guided setup, a bylined series, rush turnaround or a done-for-you desk, is provided only when purchased as an add on or under a written agreement. Pieces approved on a free plan carry a line naming Copytaster.

Our service and feedback

We own the service, its software, design and documentation, and the Copytaster name and marks. These terms do not give you any right in them other than the right to use the service as these terms allow. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

Third party sources

The service gathers and links to material published by others. We do not control that material and are not responsible for it. Summaries and links in your pieces point readers to the original source, which remains the property of its publisher.

Disclaimers

The website and service are provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that any output will be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the website, the service or these terms. Our total liability for all claims arising from or related to the website, the service or these terms is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify I Live Here Media against claims by third parties arising from your content, from what you publish, or from your breach of these terms, and pay the resulting costs and damages finally awarded or agreed in settlement.

Ending use

You may stop using the service and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the service, and we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your content where we can. Sections of these terms that by their nature should continue after access ends will continue.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will update the date at the top and, for changes that materially affect account holders, tell them before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Westchester County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to these terms or the service, and you and we consent to that jurisdiction.

General

These terms, our privacy notice and any written agreement with us are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these terms without our written consent; we may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business.
