Who we are

Copytaster is a product of I Live Here Media LLC ("I Live Here Media", "we", "us"). This notice explains what personal information we collect through the Copytaster website and service, why we collect it, who processes it for us, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. If you have a question about it, write to us at the address in the last section.

What we collect

If you leave your email address on our website to hear when Copytaster opens, we store that address and the date you left it. We do not ask for your name and we do not combine your address with information from anywhere else.

If you have an account, we store your name, your email address, your role, and a record of the actions you take in the service, such as approvals, edits and changes to settings. We keep that record because the service shows who made each editorial decision and why.

We store the material you or your team put into the service: topics, publication settings, brand and voice settings, documents you upload, the sources the service gathers for you, the drafts it writes, your edits, and the checks and decisions recorded against each piece. That material can contain personal information about people named in your sources or your writing. You decide what goes in.

Our hosting provider records technical information about each request to the website and service, such as IP address, browser type and the time of the request, to deliver pages, keep the service secure and diagnose faults.

Cookies

The public pages of our website set no cookies and run no advertising or analytics trackers. When you sign in to the service, we use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to end your session after a period without activity. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites.

How we use it

We use your email address on the launch list only to tell you about Copytaster, including when you can create an account. We use account information to provide the service, to secure it, to attribute each editorial decision to the person who made it, to respond to you, and to meet our legal obligations. We use the material you put into the service only to provide the service to you.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use your material to train artificial intelligence models.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of service providers, each under its own terms and only to run the service. Supabase stores the database and uploaded files. Vercel hosts the website and the service. Anthropic provides the artificial intelligence models that draft and check your pieces; the text needed for each step is sent to it when the step runs. Tavily runs the web searches that gather sources for your topics; it receives the search queries built from your topics, not your documents. These providers process data in the United States.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business, in which case this notice will continue to apply to the information transferred.

How long we keep it

We keep your launch list address until you ask us to remove it, or until we close the list. We keep account information and the material in your account for as long as your account is open, and delete it when you ask us to or when the account is closed, apart from records we must keep to meet a legal obligation. Our model provider deletes the text it receives within 30 days, unless it is flagged for a breach of that provider's usage policy, in which case it may keep it longer as its own terms describe. Technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own terms.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to send you a copy. You can ask to be removed from the launch list at any time. Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights, including the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. We will not treat you differently for making a request. To make one, write to us at the address below; we may need to confirm your identity before we act.

Security

We protect information with access controls, encryption in transit, a database that denies direct access to every table, and records of every administrative action. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your information as the law requires.

Children

Copytaster is a service for businesses and professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will tell account holders before it takes effect.
